Terms of use
Plain rules for using CleanPlate. By using the site you agree to them.
What CleanPlate is
CleanPlate publishes independent ratings of packaged foods sold in India, built from the label on the pack and graded by the published method. Ratings are opinions based on stated criteria. They are information, not advice. Read the disclaimer.
Using the site
- You may read, share and link to any page for personal, non-commercial use.
- You may quote short extracts with a link back to the page they came from.
- You may not copy the database, scrape the site at scale, or republish our scores or editorial as your own.
- Commercial use of scores or data needs our written permission.
Our content
The scoring method, scores, editorial text and design are ours. Product names, brands and trademarks belong to their owners and appear only to identify the product being rated. Pack photos come from the sources listed in our sources and images policy.
Independence
No brand pays for a score, a placement or a review. See the editorial independence policy.
Disputes and corrections
If you think a rating is wrong, tell us. Brands have a formal route on the dispute page. We check disputes against the pack or an official source, change the score if it is wrong, and record the change on the corrections log. A rating that follows our published method correctly is not changed because a brand disagrees with the method.
What we do not promise
The site is provided as is. We aim to be accurate and current but do not guarantee it. To the extent the law allows, CleanPlate is not liable for loss that comes from relying on the site. Nothing here limits any right you have under Indian consumer law.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest change, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
