Modified Waxy Maize Starch
A chemically modified starch (hydroxypropyl distarch phosphate) used to thicken and stabilise food. Generally regarded as safe.
Modified starches are starches that have been treated so they hold up better to heat, acid and freezing. E1442 is one of the most common.
